Knox County Development
Knox County Development Agency
The Knox County Development Agency was developed on September 13, 2001, through an Interlocal Cooperation Act Agreement. The purpose of the Knox County Development Agency (KCDA) was to act as a coordination, education and service organization to foster, promote, encourage, develop, research, analyze and to increase the knowledge, appreciation and practice of economic development and to help to preserve and enhance the Knox County community’s economic growth.
Local government units currently participating are the County of Knox, the City of Bloomfield, the Village of Center, the City of Creighton, the City of Crofton, the Village of Niobrara, the Village of Verdigre, the Village of Wausa, and the Village of Winnetoon. The communities determined that it was in the best interest of their respective governmental units to form a cooperation agency for the purposes of economic development. The county financial institutions participating are Farmers & Merchants State Bank and Commercial State Bank. Great Plains Communications, Inc. has been a strong supportive of economic development in Knox County, and continue to participate in our program.
